In Louisa, many of our community members face food and housing insecurity due to the high cost of land and housing. Climate destabilisation and inflation threaten to worsen the affordability crisis that already exists in our county. We are an all-volunteer, community based organization advocating for long term housing options that are accessible and climate resilient.
Our projects

Long term housing
We are working to facilitate land access for our low-income community members, as well as advocating and fundraising for energy efficient, resilient affordable long-term housing.

Food security
We work with Food Not Bombs to connect food insecure community members to local producers. We help with free produce distribution every Sunday afternoon, in downtown Louisa.

Homeless shelters
Homelessness is less visible in our rural county, but it exists. We are working with local churches to organize rotating winter shelters, as well as longer term housing for community members who are unhoused.
